My goal as an artist is to capture the beauty in the world around us, the majesty of nature, and convey the aesthetic in objects we often overlook. Whether a portrait, still life, or landscape, I regularly paint from life preferring the honesty of those paintings. Painting from life is not always possible and I compliment my portfolio with studio paintings done from my sketches and photos. My works—whether done from life or in the studio—are not direct representations of the environment but impressions of my experiences.
